Paid attractions…
… that you cannot miss
- The Wine Museum (La Cité du Vin)
This interactive museum is fairly new, from 2016. But it has become a top museum, not only in Bordeaux but also nationwide. It celebrates wine in all its forms, from its history to its cultural significance. Even if you’re not a wine connoisseur, the museum is a must-visit, offering breathtaking views of the Garonne River from its panoramic terrace. The ticket is affordable, 23€, and it comes with a glass of wine that you can enjoy from the rooftop bar! - The Submarine Base (Le Bassin des Lumières)
A former World War II submarine base transformed into an immersive art space. Here, digital projections of classical and contemporary art take over massive walls and water surfaces, creating an unforgettable sensory experience. At the moment, the projections are about Dutch masters (Van Gogh, Vermeer…) and le Petit Prince! My favorite place in Bordeaux out of the city center! 15€ per people is a bargain!

My best tips
Tram and shuttle boat
Bordeaux has an great public transportation system.
Tram: It connects the airport to the city center, making your arrival seamless. Once in the city, you can easily access major attractions via the tram network.
Shuttle Boat: For a unique perspective, take the Bato, a river shuttle, and enjoy a scenic ride on the Garonne.
The tram ticket is valid for bus and shuttle boat! 1.80 euros one way, 3.40€ for 2 ways.
