Tour to Saint-Émilion
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, Saint-Émilion is a must-visit for wine lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
Saint Emilion is a medieval village Located just 45 minutes drive from Bordeaux. It is also surrounded by vineyards producing some of the world’s most famous wines.
You could also take the train from Bordeaux railway station Gare Saint Jean. There are trains from early morning.
Overthere, you will find one of the most beutiful villages in France, no kidding. More than 1,5 million tourists visit it every year!

Be prepared to walk steep cobblestone streets dating form 8th century…
You can visit most of the momuments and shops for free, except for the Monolith Church and the catacombs. Book in advance through the tourist office!
And of course, you can taste and shop wine from local wine shops, or directly from producers, many wineries being open to public!
Wine-tour to Margaux
Margaux is not only a village, but it is also one of the most famous vinyards in Bordeaux (if not the most famous).
Of course Margaux is interesting provided that you are a wine lover. Otherwise, better to stay in Bordeaux or to go to Saint-Emilion.
What is striking is the number of castles, each more impressive than the last, Châteaux Margaux being the most beautiful one. You cannot visit the place, but you can get close enough to admire the “neopaladian” castle built in 18th century.
There are many other wineries accomodating tourists: Château Marquis de Terme, Château Ferrière… and many other Classified great growth.

Tour to Arcachon Bay
Bordeaux is very close to the ocean. One and half hour drive and you could be sunbathing on the beach in the Arcachon Bay.
Don’t miss the Dune of Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe: 110m high, 3km long and 600m wide… massive!
Arcachon is also one of the best place in France to taste oysters. The bay has almost 300 oyster farms! Needless to say that the oysters can’t be fresher!
Cognac
About 1.5 hours from Bordeaux, you’ll find the town of Cognac, the place where the reknown brandy comes from!

Bergerac
Bergerac is a charming town in the Dordogne region, just a 1.5-hour drive or train ride from Bordeaux.
What a picturesque medieval old town, with half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets!
Beyond its charm, Bergerac is a gateway to the Périgord region’s treasures: rolling vineyards, ancient castles, and some of France’s most delectable cuisine, including foie gras, truffles, and walnuts.
